A day at Dia:Beacon

Raquel Paiva September 2, 2016

Who said that the only road trips to do in the summer in NYC is Hamptons and Rockaway? Besides the beautiful beaches that can be easily accessed by car, there is also plenty of attraction Upstate NY that can even be explored by train.

This summer, Lindsey and I really wanted to go to Beacon. It’s located only 1 hour and 20 minutes away from Manhattan by car, so we thought that would be an awesome destination for a day trip.

Besides being a super chill place filled with beautiful landscapes of mountains and lakes, we also wanted to go there to visit the famous Dia: Beacon Museum.

The museum is huge and takes a couple of hours to see everything. My favorite exhibitions were for sure the series of fluorescent light monuments by Dan Flavin, and Richard Serra’s steel sculptures.

And of course we stopped a few times on our way to take some photos, and OF COURSE Lindsey had to be a silly goose haha I love her!
