Kiss My Lips

That's what happens when you have a photographer girlfriend: even the subway station becomes a place for a shoot! If Lindsey has her camera with her, and she sees a good light, she will get the shot!

I was waiting for a train to go to a fashion show, and I love the outfit I was wearing, specially the Kiss My Lips bag from the Brazilian store: Emme.

My skirt and top are from Top Shop, and my jacket is from Zara. By the way, I can't believe it's time for leather jackets again!

I couldn't post the links for this outfit, because they aren't new and probably not being sold anymore :( But, since I really loved this look, I have some similar options below this post in case you want to copy the look ;)

With my dear friend Laiana who I met during my Styling classes at FIT. She works behind the scenes at fashion shows, helping to create the magic. She rocks and I love her!

Summer Memories

I can't believe summer it's almost over! I feel like I waited for so long to wear bathing suits, and now it's already time for sweaters again :(

Although I never want summer to have an end, I have to say that I enjoyed a beautiful summer, and the best part of it are the memories I created.

I am going to miss my bathing suits, shorts, dresses, and white outfits. This summer I wore a lot of white, because I like how it looks fresh, harmonious, and polished. I was always pairing it with gold accessories, like this gold bracelet from Nashelle, to add a special shine.

The best thing of my summer was definitely the people who were part of it. It's very hard to live away from my family, and my friends have become my family. They are the ones who I can call when I need help, and the ones I can celebrate my achievements. My summer would not be the same without them.

Summer in Avalon

I am from a beautiful island in the coast of Sao Paulo, and I was more than happy when I found out that I was going to spend my first summer in the US in the Jersey Shore. I ended up spending two entire summers in Avalon, NJ, along with the American family I used to live when I was an au pair.

Although I was thousands miles away from the beaches where I grew up, the sound of the crashing waves and that beach breeze, always made me reconnect with who I am, and somehow feel like I am exactly in the right place. I am very lucky that I got to know many beaches throughout my time in the US, and I just wish the summer could last longer.

I took these pictures last week, when I was in Avalon visiting the family I lived with. The family I like to call MY American family. So far my experience in the US has given me many presents, especially the people I got to know. Unfortunately I don’t get to spend much time with MY American family after I moved to NYC, but anywhere I go I think about them, because they have a big influence on the person I have become.

And that is how I try to enjoy my adventure in this country: learning and growing more each day, and building relationships that I hope will be everlasting.

Suit up in a jumpsuit

In those nights when we feel like wearing something more sexy, but don't feel like wearing a dress, nothing in your closet can work better as a substitute than a jumpsuit. Jumpsuits give the same idea of looking polished as dresses, a proof of that is the fact that many celebrities have been rocking different styles of jumpsuits in the red carpet lately. High Five Taylor Swift and Selana Gomes!

I love to wear a jumpsuit because of how it defines the silhouette and how it makes the legs to look longer. There are different styles of jumpsuits with a variety of cuts that makes it very easy to find the right option for each type of body.

The jumpsuit I am wearing is from Tobi, and since I wanted a sexy look I chose this one with the back opened, and the deep v cut in the front. I also think that the navy color makes the look hotter.

I am obsessed with this clutch from Medusa Bags. The white is great for the summer and matches basically with everything!

Overall Trend

When I was a kid I had a collection of overalls. Even though my mom is not into fashion at all, she always liked overalls and kept buying me them. Maybe it was because it would make it easier for her to put any top on me since the overall covers a big part of it. My mom is more of a practical person than a fashionable one.

I remember liking to wear overalls more than dresses and skirts, because I could run freely, without worry about keeping my legs together lol. I also used to get compliments from people, more because I was wearing something different from the other kids. I loved being different!

Today I can say that I am a fashionable person, and my personal style plays an important role on my identity. But yeah, we all wake up sometimes feeling like just wearing the most practical option. In the other day, I wanted to clean my house, relax, and do a face mask at home, so I decided to spend the day on my PJs. Then I started craving ice cream, so I just put on my overall over my PJs and went for ice cream haha. I got my craving fix and also a compliment om my overall from the ice cream lady.

So yeah, overalls can be an easy and practical way to look fashionable. I honestly like to wear it with a black or white tank top underneath and that's it. Sneakers, birkenstocks, and any menswear-inspired sandals are my choices for my feet. Although I am searching for tighter overalls to wear with heels - fashion is about experimenting new things!

I really needed to post this picture and say that I am addicted to coconut water (hello! I am Brazilian, dur), and to brag about my amazing ability to walk for miles with a coconut in my head :)

Double Denim. I Just Can't Get Enough

There was a time when double denim was not a safe look. I remember when even I thought you could never put a denim shirt and bottom because it looked so weird!
Fashion is always in the change and even though my style continues the same, I am now obsessed with the double denim look. It is not about following the crowd, my opinion about it really changed.

The fact that we are now more exposed to double denim is maybe the reason why we are inspired to wear it, as we saw it more than one time in the runways in the spring/summer 2015 - thanks to Gucci, Burberry, Veronique Branquinho, and etc.
Also, celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, and Kate Hudson are a few of many who have adopted the trend

If you never wore double denim and want to try, my tip to you is to mix different shades of denim, instead of wearing one uniform color head to toe. Also, stick to a basic pair of jeans and avoid boyfriend jeans or flare pants.

Just Breathe

There are moments in our lives that we find ourselves stuck. Like we are stuck in the middle of the sea without a boat, a Canoe, or any tools to help us to get back to the ground.

Existem momentos em nossas vidas no quais nos sentimos presos. Como se estivéssemos presos no meio do mar sem um barco, canoa, ou remos para nos ajudar a chegar de volta à terra.

I am currently living in NYC, and I cannot explain how much I wanted to be here, and how much it was my dream. It was not easy to get this far, but it was an illusion to think that everything would be beautiful. Of course, as anyone else anywhere else in the world, there are times when we think that we might not be doing the best choice. Or moments when our worries about the future prevent us from seeing today's possibilities.

Eu atualmente moro em Nova Iorque, e nao tenho como explicar o quanto eu quis estar aqui, o quanto isso era meu sonho. Nao foi facil chegar ate aqui, mas inlusao minha achar que iria ser tudo lindo. E claro que como qualquer outro lugar do mundo, e qualquer outra pessoa, tem horas em que achamos que o que estamos fazendo talvez nao seja a melhor escolhar, ou as preocupacoes com o future nos impedem de enxergar as possibilidades do hoje.

I am very anxious, to the point of having heartburn thinking about the future. I just want to plan everything ahead. But I am learning more and more about how important it is to have some time to sit back, relax, and just breathe.

Eu sou muito ansiosa, do ponto de ter gastrite nervosa pensando no futuro. Mas tenho aprendido cada vez mais o quanto é importante ter um tempo pra mim mesma. Tem horas que só preciso sentar, relaxer, e respirar!

Because no matter how organized I am, or the willpower I have, certain things need time to happen. We must learn to respect time. We have to work hard to achieve our goals, but also be patient to wait for the right time. Meanwhile, take a deep breath! Just breathe!

Porque nao importa o quão organizada eu seja, ou a força de vontade gigante que eu tenho, tem coisas que só irão acontecer com o tempo. Precisamos aprender a respeitar o tempo. E enquanto os nossos objetivos nao se concretizam, a gente respire fundo! Just breathe!

I recently wrote this post wearing a little white dress and I talked about how a white dress can be simple as a basic black dress, but also more sophisticated when is paired with the right accessories.

Eu recentemente escrevi esse post com um vestidinho branco, e eu falei sobre como um vestido branco pode ser simples como um preto básico, porém pode ser também mais sofisticado se combinar ele com os acessórios certos.

I fell in love with this bathing suit from Jaime Ashley from the moment I saw it. I love how it is made of bandage fabric like this one I wore before, because it holds my body tightly, making my body to look good, and it's super comfortable! I also love it because of it’s design, that makes it more special than a simple white bathing suit.

Eu me apaixonei com esse biquini da Jaime Ashley no momento em que eu bati o olho nele. Eu amo o fato de que ele foi feito com tecido bandagem, porque ele mantém meu corpo apertadinho, fazendo meu corpo parecer mais bonito, e ainda é super confortável! Eu também amei o design dele, que o torna mais especial do que um simples biquini branco.

When I put this bathing suit on, I felt chic, and I went straight to my jewelry box to grab some gold accessories.

I love how it turned out! White, clean and glam!

It's my first time in South Beach, and from my balcony at 1Hotel I can see the inviting blue ocean. I am a beach gal at heart, and there is no way I'm going to miss the chance to feel the clear water, and sink my toes into the sand. But before, what about having a moment chilling at the hotel pool? Yes, I feel in paradise.

É a minha primeira vez em Miami, e da minha varanda no 1hotel eu consigo ver o lindo mar azul me convidando. Eu sou do litoral de São Paulo, e tenho a praia no coração. De forma alguma eu vou perder a oportunidade de sentir essa água cristalina, e afundar meus dedos dos pés na areia. Mas antes, que tal relaxar um pouco na piscina? Sim, me sinto no paraíso.

Like 5th Avenue, I've always heard of Rodeo Drive as the place to find the best luxurious fashion stores. Both places have many stores in common, but they have a different vibe because of their locations. New York City as the cool place, and LA as a more chill and laid back.

Que nem a quinta avenida, eu sempre ouvi falar da Rodeo Drive como o lugar para encontrar as melhores lojas de luxo. Os dois locais têm muitas lojas em comum, porém com uma vibe diferente: Nova Iorque mais estilosa e cool, e LA mais relax.

I love this romper from Top Shop! The upper part of it is more fancy because of the texture of the fabric and also because its shaped like a blouse, but the shorts breaks down the serious look and make it more playful. My favorite Knotty Gal Necklace completes the outfit. Ready to window shop!

With Uniqlo at Governors Ball

This was my first time attending Governors Ball and I definitely wanna come back! For those like me who have been eagerly waiting for the summer, it was a great way to preview what summer is going to bring; hot sun, epic music, lots of ice cream, and summer outfits!

Essa foi a primeira vez que participei do Governors Ball e eu definitivamente quero voltar ano que vem! Para as pessoas que como eu estavam esperando ansiosamente para o verão, foi uma ótima maneira de visualizar o que o verão vai trazer; sol, calor, músicas épicas, muito sorvete, e roupas de verão!

Randall's island is a perfect location for the event; so much green grass to just sit down, relax, and enjoy the festival! I was a little afraid of having a hard time to get to the Island, and I opted for crossing the bridge waking from 125th street and it was super easy and fun. And even though the weather was not perfect - it was a bit cold, people's happy energy kept the summer feeling alive.

A Ilha Randall's Island é um local perfeito para o evento; cheio de grama para sentar, relaxar, e apreciar o festival! Eu estava um pouco com medo de ser difícil de chegar na ilha (porque tinha muita gente indo para o evento, trafico, e etc), e eu optei por atravessar a ponte à pé pela rua 125th e foi super fácil e divertido. E embora o clima não estava perfeito (estava um pouco frio) a energia feliz das pessoas manteve o sentimento de verão vivo!

I loved seeing all the outfits and how so many people took their time to choose a festival inspired look! I always see reports of what people were wearing at festivals, but it's totally different from seeing in person, because there are tons of cool outfits that we don't see featured in the reports. It was inspiring!

Eu adorei ver todas as roupas e como tantas pessoas realmente investiram tempo para montar um look inspirado no festival! Eu sempre vejo fotos do que as pessoas estavam usando nos festivais, mas é totalmente diferente de ver em pessoa, porque há vários looks legais que não vemos em fotos. Foi inspirador!

I was wearing a black tank top from Uniqlo. This top is part of the AIRism line, and I chose to wear it because it's so comfortable and ideal for a day outside. I also wanted to wear a plain colored top because I didn't want my outfit to look like I was wearing "too much", since I wanted to wear this jewelry belt and a bolder makeup. Although for many people there is no such thing as "too much" for a festival look, that's what I felt like wearing and I love how it turned out.

Eu estava usando um top preto básico da Uniqlo. Esee top é parte da linha AIRism, e eu decidi usar ele porque é muito confortável e ideal para um dia inteiro ao ar livre. Eu também queria usar um top bem básico porque eu não queria que o meu look ficasse "exagerado" já que eu queria usar esse cinto e uma maquiagem mais ousada. Embora que para muitas pessoas não existe tal coisa como look "exagerado" em festivais, isso foi o que eu senti vontade de vestir e adorei como ficou.

Maybe next year I will wear a more "too much" look? I'm inspired and looking forward for my next Governor's Ball.

Talvez no próximo ano eu decida usar um look mais "exagerado"! Fiquei inspirada e já estou ansiosa para o meu próximo Governor's Ball.

Timeless Stripes

I've lost count of how many striped shirts I own. Long sleeves for fall and winter, short sleeves and crops for spring and summer. They also vary in colors; red, black, light blue and the most popular navy. I'm a big fan of the jeans and white t-shirt combo, but whenever I feel like I wanna wear something a little less simple, I choose the striped shirt without a doubt.

Eu já perdi as contas de quantas camisas listradas eu tenho no meu guarda-roupa. Com mangas compridas para o outono e inverno, e mangas curtas para primavera e verão. Elas também variam em cores; vermelhas, pretas, azul claro e azul marinho que são as mais popular. Eu sou fanática pela combinação jeans e camiseta branca, mas sempre que eu quero usar algo um pouco menos simples, eu sem dúvida uso uma camiseta listrada.

The striped shirt first became a trend in 1917 when Coco Chanel launched it inspired by the Parisian fisherman whom wore them. It was the beginning of a new era where women started becoming more independent and started wearing elements of men's clothing. Until today the stripes give us the idea of boldness, strength, and freedom. I guess that's why the striped t-shirt became timeless.

A camisa listrada virou tendência pela primeira vez em 1917, quando a Coco Chanel lançou as listras inspiradas nos pescadores parisienses que usavam elas. Era o início de uma nova era em que as mulheres começaram a se tornar mais independentes e começaram a usar elementos de roupas masculinas. Até hoje em dia as listras nos passam a idéia de ousadia, força e liberdade. Eu acho que é por isso que a camiseta listrada se tornou uma peça timeless, que vai estar sempre em alta.

Some people suffer from the fear of wearing stripes and looking wider than they actually are. It is true that they do make you look a little wider, but I don't think the difference is so big that it should be avoided at all costs. In my opinion, if you like the look of a striped t-shirt you should try to find one that makes you feel comfortable and works for your body; larger stripes are better and the vertical stripes have the opposite effect - they make your body skinnier and longer. Just try some on until you look yourself in the mirror and find the perfect fit. There are stripes for all of us!

Algumas pessoas tem medo de usarem listras e ficarem parecendo mais largas do que realmente são. Isso é fato: listras horizontais fazem a gente parecer um pouco mais cheinhas. Mas eu não acho que a diferença seja tão grande que as listras devam ser extremamente evitadas. Na minha opinião, se você gosta do look de uma t-shirt listrada você deve tentar achar uma que faça você se sentir confortável e funcione para o seu corpo; listras maiores são melhores e as listras verticais tem o efeito oposto (elas fazem o seu corpo mais magro e mais longo). O truque é experimentar várias até você se olhar no espelho e ficar feliz. Existem listras para todo mundo!

I Don't F* With You By Mickey

How F* adorable is this sweatshirt? I think it's so ironic to have Mickey Mouse hand showing his middle finger. Ironic because Mickey is cute and childish, and he is doing a naughty gesture. For me it means that it doesn't matter how nice and patient you are, everyone has a moment when you just want to put your middle finger up and give it to the world.

Like me last week during final exams week! LOL

Que fofo esse moletom, né gente? Eu achei tão irônico o Mickey Mouse mostrando o dedo do meio haha. Irônico porque o Mickey é bonitinho e meigo, mas está fazendo um gesto não tão meigo. Para mim, essa estampa quer dizer que não importa o quão bonzinho e paciente você é, todo mundo tem um momento em que só queremos dar o dedo do meio para tudo e todos (talvez quease todos).

I tend to be always calm and relaxed, but sometimes I wish I could just say the F word to some people and be left alone. Since I cannot do that, I just put my sweatshirt on and let it say for me. Thanks Mickey!

Eu geralmente sou sempre calma e relax, mas às vezes eu só quero poder dizer um f&d@-se para alguns problemas e ficar em paz. Já que eu não posso fazer isso (porque minha mãe me ensinou a ser educada), eu apenas visto esse moletom e deixo o Mickey passar o recado por mim. Obrigada Mickey!

I think everybody who sees my blog can tell how much I love crop tops1 Just scroll down on my home page and you will see tons of looks wearing them!

Eu acho que todo mundo que da uma olhada no meu blog consegue perceber o quanto eu amo crop tops! Apenas na home page tem um monte de looks onde estou usando eles.

I especially love this one from 12ten for 3 reasons;

1: Because I am obsessed with black and white; 2: The geometric blocks pattern are cool and make me look thinner; 3: It is long enough to make me feel comfortable wearing it when I am doing daily tasks - like grocery shopping or running to catch the subway.

Basic White Dress + High Heels = Ready to Party

Do you wanna know what I love about a white dress? I love how it can look casual, but also more sophisticated when worn with high heels. Maybe it's because I wear black dresses more often, but when I wear a white one I feel better dressed.

Sabe o que eu amo em um vestido branco? Eu adoro como ele pode parecer casual, mas ao mesmo tempo um pouco mais sofisticado se usar com saltos altos. Talvez seja porque eu uso vestidos pretos com mais freqüência, mas quando eu uso um braquinho me sinto mais arrumada.

The little white dress I am wearing is from Tobi. My favorite part about it is the shape where the sleeves are cut; it makes my arms look longer and stronger. The little turtle neck also makes my neck look longer, which I really like! ( I have a little secret complexion of my neck being short haha).

Esse vestidinho branco que estou usando é da loja Tobi. Minha parte dele é o formato reto na parte das mangas: faz os meus braços parecerem mais longos e mais definidos. A pequena gola no pescoço também faz meu pescoço parecer mais longo, e eu adoro! (Eu tenho um pouco de complexo do meu pescoço ser curto haha) .

My sandals are from Call it Spring! They look lovely with a dress, but I am also looking forward to wearing it with pants in a more casual look. They are definitely the main piece of this look that paired with the little white dress got me ready for a fancy dinner. Try to picture this dress with flats or something less glam, it would totally change the look. Points to Cremasco Sandals!

Napa Valley

I don't even know which words to use to describe how beautiful Napa Valley is! I was super excited about going there, not only because of the big wine reason, but also for the peacefulness of this place. Whoever lives in a big city knows how delicious it is to spend a day in a calm place. Think about a huge field of grapes planted, waiting to become wine, and a gorgeous sun setting behind the horizon line!

Eu nem sei que palavras usar para descrever que lindo que é Napa Valley! Eu estava super animada sobre conhecer lá, não só por causa do vinho, mas também por causa da tranquilidade desse lugar. Quem mora em cidade grande sabe o quanto e gostoso ter um dia em algum lugar calmo. Pense em um campo gigante de plantacao de uvas, e um pôr do sol lindo atrás na linha do horizonte!

I am so blessed for having the chance to go to such place and I wanted to wear something as calm as this location and mood; I chose a simple white shirt and jeans, with my beloved knee high boots, and a jacket because it was a bit chilly.

Eu sou tão abençoada por ter a oportunidade de conhecer lugares como esse, e eu quis vestir algo tão calmo como essa localização; Eu escolhi uma simples camisa branca e jeans, com as minhas amadas botas de cano alto, e uma jaqueta porque estava um pouco frio.

To finalize the look, I put one this incredible RISE AND SHINE Necklace from Knotty Gal to match with the sunlight and remind me that the sun will always be there; Even at moments when everything seems dark and I can't find a solution, the next day will always bring some light to guide me out of any gloomy moment.

That night we went for dinner at Auberge du Soleil and the food and view were magnificent! A great way to end a glowing day!

Para finalizar o look, coloquei esse incrível Colar da Knotty Gal para combinar com o sol e me lembrar que ele vai estar sempre vai estar lá; Mesmo nos momentos em que tudo parece escuro e eu não consigo encontrar uma solução, o dia seguinte vai sempre trazer luz para me guiar em qualquer momento sombrio. Naquela noite fomos jantar no Auberge du Soleil, e a comida e vista estavam magníficas! Uma ótima maneira de terminar um dia brilhante como aquele!

Sun's Out Sandals Out

Although the Spring season has started more than a month ago, it has been still hard to have a nice and warm day. Why so cold NYC? Enough it's enough!

When I saw the forecast for 75 degrees last Wednesday there was no doubt; I had to do something outside! Lindsey, her mom who was visiting from Amsterdam, and I went on a boat that cruises in the Hudson River in the west side of Manhattan, overseeing the skyline and the Statue of Liberty. It was a glorious day!

Embora a primavera ter comecado a mais de um mês atrás, ainda esta difícil termos um dia agradável e quente. Por que tão frio NYC? CHEGAAA de frio!

Quando eu vi a previsão para 24 graus na quarta-feira não tive dúvida; eu nao podia ficar dentro de casa! Entao juntamente com a Lindsey e a mãe dela que mora em Amsterdam mas estava visitando NY fomos em um passeio de barco que navega no rio Hudson, no lado oeste de Manhattan, com vista pro highline e Estátua da Liberdade. Foi um dia glorioso!

And it was the first day of the year that I could finally wear sandals! I was wearing the Huller gladiators from Call it Spring. It felt so good to wear sandals again, and they were so comfortable! I've been looking for the ideal gladiators and I'm very happy with my choice! I love them and three people stopped me to compliment my shoes, which means that I'm not the only one who thinks they look beautiful! Can't wait to wear them again with a dress in another hot day!

E foi o primeiro dia do ano que eu pude finalmente usar sandálias! Eu estava usando gladiadoras da Call it Spring. Foi tão bom usar sandálias novamente, e elas sao super confortáveis! Eu estava procurando por gladiadoras ideais para mim e eu estou muito feliz com a minha escolha! Eu amo essas e três pessoas me pararam para elogiar elas, o que significa que eu não sou a única que achou elas lindas! Mal posso esperar para usar elas novamente com um vestido em um dia mais quente!
